Star Wars Galaxies

A Trip Down Memory Lane -- and -- a Tribute to FCLUB

Botrus

I've been playing "Star Wars Galaxies" since launch.

Since it's a role-playing game and since we knew, before it even launched, that you wouldn't be playing one of THE characters, I decided to make a character for myself.

Botrus the Wookie was supposed to be a Droid Engineer.

A rebel-sympathizer, he lived just outside of Anchorhead -- but between there and Bestine so that he could sell merchandise to whoever happened upon his little shop. He was, afterall, a merchant. A merchant truly only lives for the coin. Plus, no matter how much he may have secretly supported what the rebels were doing, his business had to be "legitimate" enough to not attract the attention of the ever-watching Empire -- or he'd have no coin left with which to help the rebels.

As I say, he was supposed to be a Droid Engineer -- thus the name "Bots-r-us". As it turned out, I didn't have the patience for that profession. It's odd how some parts of the story that are vital to the books and movies, became almost pointless in the game -- and some small glimpses from the movies became required-professions in the digital-recreation of it all.
